After having our 11 year old I...as many women do...struggled to get rid of her baby weight. We did not want to be two overweight parents. So we decided to not only lose weight but to also get healthy. Like any working parents it was difficult for us to find the time. We researched different patterns of eating and decided that healthier eating was right for us. So we said to ourselves...what if we were able to share some of the healthy eating lessons we learned through research and nutritionists with other families and businesses that were focused on eating healthy?

Lana Parker Browner is the head of executives at Bent Events. She takes pride in managing each event booked with us like it was her own personal reception or corporate meeting. She hails from the screenwriting and project management/government contracting world where she worked in marketing and business development. Lana has a PMP and an MBA which allows her to put her business mind to work and create memorable experiences for her clients. Her roots in New Orleans never allowed her to step completely away from food. She has a passion for creating delicious meals and is fortunate enough to share that passion with her husband...the Chef.

Chef Bobby Browner is the Executive Chef at Bent Events. Together these two partners put their personal touch on every event and product that leaves their door. Chef Bob, as he is affectionately called, was trained in the classical form of culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu. He works with our resident nutritionist and Lana to develop healthy, soulful meal options and source local outlets to procure ingredients for our foods. Chef Bob's food is a NOLA-Caribbean fusion with a healthy twist. His Jamaican heritage mixed with Lana's creole heritage is the baseline for our out of this world recipes. We take that fusion and run it by a nutritionist to take the bad parts out of delicious food we grew up eating without taking out the savory good taste!

We love sharing our awesome food with our local supporters in Los Angeles, CA and Washington DC. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to accessing clean, wholesome foods made from scratch without added sugar, salt, or preservatives. Check our events calendar frequently to follow our pop-ups. YOU are our test kitchen so we will always take our meals to the streets to get your feedback!
